LICORbio acquired Serva Electrophoresis, a privately held company founded in 1953 and which provides electrophoresis reagents, consumables, and workflow instrumentation. The transaction strengthens LICORbio’s position as a solutions provider in protein analysis, said Tom Reslewic, CEO of LICORbio.
The integration of SERVA’s technologies with LICORbio’s imaging platforms will provide customers with complete workflow solutions from sample preparation to resolution, to imaging and quantification, added Reslewic.
“This acquisition reflects LICORbio’s strategic focus on expanding our core technologies while staying close to the needs of the research community,” he continued. “By integrating SERVA’s expansive electrophoresis products with our established imaging platforms, we’re enabling more accurate, reproducible, and efficient protein, DNA, and RNA analysis workflows.”
The acquisition is effective immediately, with integration activities already underway. As part of the acquisition, LICORbio will maintain Serva’s Heidelberg location.
